Young Money/ Cash Money has a lot in store for 2012. Birdman has revealed Like Father, Like Son 2 with Lil Wayne and Weezy's I Am Not A Human Being 2 will be released later this year. He gave Complex more information on both projects.

"Wayne's got an album he’s about to drop real soon. Its called I am not a Human Being 2. It's gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet. Whenever he’s ready to drop his album, we’re gonna make it do what it do. He’s definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There’s no telling [if Rebirth 2 will happen]. But I know for sure we’ve got I Am Not A Human Being 2 ready to go. That’s the next project."

On Like Father, Like Son 2

"We got that finished too. We’ve been recording that. We never stopped recording [for] that. We got songs we want. When we get ready to drop it, we’ll probably do that in the 4th quarter. Wayne wants to do the I am Not a Human Being 2 and I want to do my solo album too, so we’ll probably do that later on."

2012 will be a busy year for YMCMB. Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded dropping on April 3 and Bow Wow's Underrated is likely to be released in April.

Underworld' sinks teeth into box office with $25M

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kate Beckinsale is back with a vengeance, with her latest "Underworld" movie opening at No. 1 this weekend.

"Underworld Awakening" made an estimated $25.4, distributor Sony Screen Gems reported Sunday.

This is the fourth film in the vampire action saga. Beckinsale starred in the first two movies as the warrior Selene, then bowed out of part three but returned for this latest installment. "Underworld Awakening" was shown for the first time in 3-D as well as on IMAX screens, where it made $3.8 million. That's 15 percent of the film's weekend gross, which is a record for an IMAX digital-only run.

Sony had hoped the film would end up in the low-$20 million range. But Rory Bruer, the studio's president of worldwide distribution, says the fact that it did even better — despite a snow storm that hit much of the Midwest and East Coast — primarily has to do with Beckinsale's return.

"She is such a force. Her character — you just can't take your eyes off of her. I know the character is very dear to her, as well, and she just kills it," Bruer said. "The 3-D aspect of the film also brings something, makes it a fun, visceral ride."

Opening in second place was "Red Tails" from executive producer George Lucas, about the Tuskegee Airmen who were the first black fighter pilots to serve in World War II. It made an estimated $19.1 million, according to 20th Century Fox, which was well above expectations; the studio had hoped to reach double digits, said Chris Aronson, executive vice president of domestic distribution.

"I believe what George Lucas has stated all along: This is an important story and a story that must be told. It is a true story of American heroism and valor and audiences have really responded to this message," Aronson said. "People want to feel good about themselves, they want to be uplifted. We have enough hard crud going on in this country right now. Times are tough, and if we look back and are told a story of some really fantastic deeds, that's really compelling moviegoing."

Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarabedian said a grassroots effort to get groups of people into the theaters to see "Red Tails," along with positive word-of-mouth, helped its strong showing. The film saw an uptick from about $6 million on Friday to $8.65 million on Saturday.

Overall box office is up 31 percent from the same weekend a year ago, Dergarabedian said, thanks to new releases as well as movies like "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," which had limited runs for awards consideration at the end of 2011 and are now expanding nationwide. The Sept. 11 drama from Warner Bros., starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, came in fourth place with $10.5 million.

Last week's No. 1 film, the Universal smuggling thriller "Contraband" starring Mark Wahlberg, dropped to the No. 3 spot with $12.2 million. It's now made $46.1 million in two weeks. Meanwhile, Steven Soderbergh's international action picture "Haywire" from Relativity Media, starring mixed martial arts superstar Gina Carano in her first film role, opened in fifth place with $9 million, which was above expectations.

"This is a great, perfect January weekend. You've got these holdover films and newcomers creating an overall marketplace that people are really responding to," Dergarabedian said. "It sounds cliche but this marketplace really has something for everyone."

As for worldwide box office, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1" has now crossed the $700 million mark. The first half of the finale of the girl-vampire-werewolf love triangle franchise has grossed an estimated $701.3 million in global box office receipts since its release last November, according to Lionsgate, which recently acquired Summit Entertainment, which distributes the series.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

PRESIDENT KIKWETE MEET WITH CHADEMA LEADERSHIP IN IKULU

President Jakaya Kikwete will on Sunday meet a leadership delegation from the opposition political party, Chadema, in Dar es Salaam over the process to get the new Constitution for Tanzania.

A statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications on Saturday evening says the meeting, to be held at the State House in Dar es Salaam, follows acceptance by the President to a request by Chadema’s leadership to have audience with the President over the Constitution process.

The statement says the meeting with Chadema is the first in a series of meetings the President plans to hold with opposition political parties’ leaders and other stakeholders over the process to get a new constitution.

The timetable for the President’s meetings with the opposition parties will be availed to the public later, according to the statement.

It says the process to get the new Constitution for Tanzania will be guided by a new Law on Constitutional Reforms 2011 which was endorsed by the Parliament during its just-ended session in Dodoma, last week.

4.5 Million People Signed Google's Anti-SOPA Petition

For opponents of SOPA and PIPA, Wednesday’s internet blackout and Google’s was a huge success. Eighteen Senators changed their position on PIPA, Paul Tassi reports; and 4.5 million people signed Google’s anti-censorship petition, according to the LA Times.

“There’s no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet or undermine the existing laws that have enabled the Web to thrive, creating millions of U.S. jobs,” the petition reads. “Too much is at stake -– please vote NO on PIPA and SOPA.”

The LA Times notes that Google’s is far from the only petition opposing SOPA and PIPA:

Of course, Google’s anti-SOPA and PIPA petition is not the only one out there on this day of mass online protest. As of this writing 1.458 million people signed a similar petition at the activist website Avaaz.org, and Fight for the Future said that between its two sites, Sopastrike.com and AmericanCensorship.org, at least 350,000 people have sent emails to representatives in the House and Senate.

A graphic put out by Google shows that before today’s coordinated protests, 3 million Americans had signed various petitions against the two bills.

I honestly can’t recall a similar effort – eighteen Senators changed their positions – or a similar instance of online activism. As Paul notes, it wasn’t out of the goodness of our elected official’s hearts either that made them run. They read the political writing on the wall, turned tail in the opposite direction.

This isn’t purely online grassroots activism, obviously – Google is a huge corporation as are many opponents of SOPA – but to see sites like Reddit and Wikipedia, both largely user driven and community oriented, help start to change the political outcomes of major pieces of legislation is to take a glimpse into the future.

The playing field is shifting. Technology is helping to level that field. Bills like SOPA and PIPA threaten to return us to the status quo – not just in arts and entertainment and the issue of fair use, but in the way we are allowed to be free on the internet. We have the capacity to make a difference. Laws that threaten freedom of speech threaten that as well.

We can work to combat piracy and protect free speech all at the same time. I hope that yesterday’s blackout helped move us a few steps closer to a real conversation on these issues.

What SOPA and PIPA Means to you?

You’ve probably heard a lot about SOPA and PIPA lately and for good reason.
First things first, SOPA and PIPA are not cutesy pet names; they’re online piracy provisions that threaten the internet as you know it according to the bills’ opponents.
SOPA, a bill from the House of Representatives, is the Stop Online Piracy Act; PIPA a bill from the Senate, is Protect Intellectual Property Act.
The Problem: Piracy vs. Internet Censorship

The targets of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) are foreign websites that have been accused of stealing copyrighted material; the main backer of SOPA is the Motion Picture Association of America.

The problem, according to those against SOPA is that the bill allows for the government and a giant corporation (i.e., Hollywood film houses) to block/and or delete suspected URLs of those foreign sites.

In a nutshell, SOPA would engage a government-enforced firewall of foreign sites accused of piracy.

If you shop online, surf online or socialize online, the bill, if passed, could affect your online experience.

The Players

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, vowed to kick it up a notch for SOPA in February; the bill is currently stalled in the House.

In protest major websites, Wikipedia, Reddit, and a few others, participated in Blackout Day, and the Motion Picture Association of America called the move a “dangerous gimmick” that goes against the spirit of working together to find a solution to online piracy.
“Only days after the White House and chief sponsors of the legislation responded to the major concern expressed by opponents and then called for all parties to work cooperatively together, some technology business interests are resorting to stunts that punish their users or turn them into their corporate pawns, rather than coming to the table to find solutions to a problem that all now seem to agree is very real and damaging,” said former Sen. Chris Dodd, chairman and CEO of the MPAA, in a statement.
The Senate has its own bill to stop online piracy, PIPA, the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA), is Sen. Patrick Leahy’s baby.

Sen. Leahy says he would consider tweaking the bill in the spirit of compromise.
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will bring an amended version of PIPA to the floor for a vote on January 23; the Net Coalition (Google, Yahoo and Amazon), launched a major multimedia ad campaign in eight states opposing PIPA. The ad campaign (print and broadcast) ends on January 22nd.

Kauli hiyo mpya ya Ndugai inakuja kipindi ambacho nyongeza hiyo ya posho imeibua mjadala mzito, ambao hivi karibuni Naibu Spika huyo alilazimika kujibu mapigo ya Waziri Mkuu Mstaafu, Frederick Sumaye ambaye alionya kuwa posho hizo zinaweza kufanya taasisi nyingine za dola kudai nyongeza.

Juzi, Ndugai akizungumzia posho hizo alisema hazilingani kwa namna yeyote ile na posho wanazopewa viongozi wastaafu serikalini na Idara ya Mahakama.

Alipomjibu Sumaye kuhusu suala hilo la posho, alimshambulia kiongozi huyo mstaafu akisema hana usafi wa kuzikosoa kwani aliwahi kufanikisha Sheria ya Mafao ya Viongozi Wakuu Wastaafu ili kujiandalia mazingira ya kula maisha mazuri.

“Hili la posho limesemwa sana na sisi tumelisikia kwa sababu ni wasikivu, kumekuwa na kelele nyingi za posho. Kwa kuwa tunakutana siku 10 kabla ya kuanza kwa Bunge, tutakaa na kulijadili kisha tutasema tumefikia wapi,” alisema Ndugai wakati akizungumza katika Kipindi cha Dakika 45 kinachorushwa na kituo cha televisheni cha ITV.

Alisema Watanzania wanapaswa kutambua kuwa posho wanazolipwa wabunge ni kidogo ikilinganishwa na mihimili mingine ya dola huku akienda mbali na kuwagusa viongozi wa dini kwamba kuna baadhi ya maaskofu na wachungaji wanaopiga kelele kuhusu posho hizo za wabunge bila kujua wanalipwa shilingi ngapi au zinatofautiana vipi na wachungaji wengine.
“Kuna maaskofu ambao wamekuwa wakipiga kelele juu ya hizi posho, lakini hata na wao ukiwaangalia kuna tofauti kubwa sana kwao na wachungaji katika mapato yao,” alieleza Ndugai:

Alisema wakosoaji wamekuwa wakilalamika tu bila kutoa suluhu au njia ya kutatua hali hiyo ikiwa ni pamoja na kupendekeza kiasi cha posho kinachopaswa kulipwa na kushauri kuwa taifa liunde kamati maalumu ya kuchambua na kuweka bayana viwango vya mishahara ya viongozi na posho zao ili kila mwananchi aweze kuvitambua.

“Wananchi wanalalamikia sana posho za wabunge kwa kuwa ndicho kitu kidogo wanachojua ambacho wameambiwa na magazeti, lakini wangejua viwango vya posho wanazolipana watu wa Mahakama na viongozi wetu wastaafu, wangeachana kabisa na hili suala la posho za wabunge,” alisema.

Alisema pia mishahara ya wabunge ni tone tu la mshahara wa ofisa wa kawaida wa Mamlaka ya Mapato Tanzania (TRA), Ofisa wa ngazi ya chini wa Mamlaka ya Hifadhi za Taifa (Tanapa) na Mamlaka ya Bandari Tanzania (TPA).

Ndugai alisema kelele hizo za wananchi zinachangiwa zaidi na hali ngumu ya maisha waliyo nayo kwa sasa... “Kama nyumbani kuna chakula kidogo, ukipika nyama na kuwagawia watoto wako finyango mbili tatu wataanza kugombea, huyu kapewa kikubwa na huyu kapewa kidogo.”

“Wenzetu wa Kenya na Mauritius wana tume ambayo ni huru na ina watu ambao wanaaminika kuwa ni waadilifu, ndiyo wanaangalia mishahara ya viongozi wa juu kama hapa kwetu labda ni kuanzia kwa mkuu wa mkoa mpaka hata Rais. Ukienda kwenye mtandao unaona kila kitu, hakuna usiri, tupate chombo huru ambacho kitatupangia sisi wote ambao tunapata pesa kutokana na kodi za wananchi... nasema Watanzania wangejua maeneo mengine kukoje wangeachana kabisa na suala la posho za wabunge.”

Alipoulizwa kama angetaka tume hiyo ipunguze posho zilizopo, alisema ingekuwa vizuri kama ingepandisha zile zilizo chini ili angalau kuwe na uwiano... “Lakini kama ikibidi sawa, ila ndiyo yatakuwa yaleyale kuwa huyu ana nyama kubwa zaidi.”

Kuhusu posho zenyewe
Kwa mara ya kwanza Novemba 28 mwaka jana, gazeti la mwananchi liliripoti kupanda kwa posho hizo za vikao (sitting allowance) kwa wabunge kutoka Sh70,000 kwa siku walizokuwa wakilipwa awali, mpaka kufikia Sh200,000.

Hata hivyo, Katibu wa Bunge Dk Thomas Kashililah alikanusha vikali habari hiyo, lakini siku chache baadaye Spika wa Bunge, Anne Makinda alithibitisha kupandishwa kwa posho hizo ambazo wabunge walianza kulipwa katika mkutano ulioisha.

Kwa sasa inakadiriwa kuwa kila mbunge analipwa zaidi ya Sh7 milioni kila mwezi, ikiwa ni mshahara pamoja na posho nyingine.

Jumuisho hilo ni pamoja na posho ya mafuta Sh2 milioni kwa mwezi ikikadiriwa kuwa atatumia lita 1,000 ambazo makisio ni Sh2,000 kwa lita moja. Nyingine ni posho ya kukaa jimboni Sh800,000 posho ya ubunge Sh1 milioni, kuendesha ofisi Sh700,000, simu Sh500,000 na mshahara ni Sh2.3 milioni.

Wakati wa vikao bungeni, kunaongezeka nyingine za aina tatu ikiwemo ile ya ‘sitting allowance’ ambayo sasa ni Sh200,000 posho ya kujikimu Sh80,000 na usafiri Sh50,000 ambayo hupewa bila kujali kuwa tayari kuna fedha za mafuta ya mwezi mzima.

Wakati hayo yakitokea huko Ifakara, jijini Dar es Salaam, Mwenyekiti wa Chadema, Freeman Mbowe alitumia fursa aliyopewa wakati wa kuaga mwili wa mbunge huyo kuipiga vijembe Serikali huku Mwenyekiti Mstaafu wa chama hicho, Bob Makani akianguka ghafla.

Marehemu Regia ambaye alifariki dunia Jumamosi iliyopita kwa ajali ya gari iliyotokea Ruvu, Pwani, unatarajiwa kuzikwa leo Ifakara.

Katika tukio la Ifakara, mgogoro baina ya kambi mbili zilizotokana na makovu ya uchaguzi huo wa ndani kati ya wafuasi wa marehemu na ya Mbunge wa Viti Maalumu, Susan Kiwanga ulisababisha kutimuliwa msibani hapo kwa Mwenyekiti wa Chadema Wilaya ya Kilombero, Salum Ngozi.

Ilielezwa kwamba baada ya Ngozi kufika msibani hapo juzi majira ya saa moja usiku na kusalimiana na viongozi wa Serikali, alifuatwa na baadhi ya makada wa chama hicho wakimtaka aondoke eneo hilo jambo ambalo aliligomea. Wafuasi hao wa Chadema waliamua kutumia nguvu kumwondoa hali iliyowalazimu polisi waliokuwa eneo hilo kuingilia kati. Askari walimtoa mwenyekiti huyo na kumpeleka katika Kituo cha Polisi Wilaya.

Hiyo ilikuwa mara ya pili kwa Ngozi kutimuliwa katika msiba huo. Mara ya kwanza ilikuwa juzi na kumlazimu Kaimu Mkuu wa Wilaya ya Kilombero, Francis Miti kuingilia kati.

Alipoulizwa kuhusu tukio hilo, Ngozi alikiri kutokea vurugu hizo msibani na kudai kwamba, alifanyiwa fujo na kikundi cha watu aliowaita wahuni na kwamba amefungua kesi ya kufanyiwa vurugu katika Kituo cha Polisi Wilaya ya Kilombero na kwamba baada ya kumalizika kwa mazishi atasimamia suala hilo ili haki itendeke.

“Kuna jambo moja ambalo ningependa Serikali, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) na vyama vingine walitafakari na wasilibeze hili. Viongozi huandaliwa na viongozi makini hawazuki tu,” alisema na kuongeza;

“Naeleza hivyo maana mara nyingi tumekuwa hatueleweki na tumekuwa tukibezwa. Sisi tunatambua viongozi wa baadaye kisha tunakuza vipaji na kutoa fursa za nafasi za uongozi kwa vijana.”

“Vijana lazima waandaliwe kimaadili na ndiyo maana tuliingia vyuo vikuu lakini tukatafsiriwa kuwa ni wakorofi na wachochezi wa vurugu. Lakini leo tumepata viongozi wazuri vijana kwa njia hiyo kutoka vyuoni kama vile Mheshimiwa Zitto (Zuberi Kabwe, Mbunge wa Kigoma Kaskazini), Mnyika (John Mbunge wa Ubungo, Mdee (Halima-Mbunge wa Kawe), Silinde (David Mbunge wa Mbozi) na Mtema (Regia Marehemu).

“Hawa tuliwaandaa, hawakuzuka. Rai yangu kwa Serikali na kwa wazazi ni kwamba vijana hawa wakifanya siasa tusiwakwaze na kuwafukuza, bali tuwalee.”

Spika Makinda katika kile kilichoonekana kama ni kumjibu Mbowe, alitumia fursa hiyo kufafanua uendeshaji wa shughuli za Bunge akisisitiza kwamba linaendeshwa kwa kanuni na wala si kufurahisha watu.
Alimsifia marehemu Mtema kwamba alikuwa akizijua vyema kanuni za Bunge: “Bunge huendeshwa kwa kanuni na si kwa matakwa tu ya kufurahisha watu. Yeye marehemu alizijua kanuni ndiyo maana hata wakati alipokuwa akikosea alikuwa tayari kuomba radhi.”

Mzee Makani aanguka
Hata hivyo hafla hiyo iliingia dosari baada ya Makani kuanguka muda mfupi baada ya kuuaga mwili wa marehemu. Baada ya tukio hilo, alibebwa na kupelekwa pembeni ambako alipepewa kwa takriban dakika tano kisha kurejea katika hali yake ya kawaida na kurudi kwenye kiti chake.

Baadaye Mwenyekiti wa NCCR Mageuzi, James Mbatia ambaye alikuwa mmoja wa watu waliokuwa wakimpatia Mzee Makani huduma ya kwanza aliwaambia waandishi wa habari kuwa alianguka baada ya kuishiwa nguvu ghafla.

“Sasa anaendelea vizuri na amerudi kushiriki kumuaga mpendwa wetu katika safari yake hii ya mwisho,” alisema Mbatia.

Kafulila ashangiliwa
Mbunge wa Kigoma Kusini (NCCR-Mageuzi), David Kafulila jana alishangiliwa kwa makofi baada ya kutangazwa kuwa mmoja wa wabunge walioteuliwa na Ofisi ya Bunge kuwamo katika msafara kusindikiza msiba huo akiwakilisha chama chake.

Baada ya kiongozi wa shughuli hiyo, Ofisa Mwandamizi wa Ofisi ya Bunge, Saidi Yakub kumtaja Kafulila baadhi ya waombolezaji walishangilia kwa makofi, vicheko vya chini kwa chini na minong’ono ya hapa na pale.
